Quick answer

The currently listed minimum PC requirements

These are the minimum requirements on Steam. The page does not provide recommended hardware models or a performance guarantee for a specific resolution or frame rate.

Road to Empress II system requirements currently list 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core i3 or AMD equivalent, 4 GB RAM, dedicated graphics, DirectX 11, 10 GB of available storage, and a broadband internet connection. The CPU generation and graphics card model are not specified, so an i3 label alone cannot confirm that every PC meets the requirement.

Before you decide

Check your PC in four steps

Start with the details Windows reports, then use the manufacturer’s specifications for model-specific questions.
  1. Windows

Open Settings, then System and About. Confirm Windows 10 or 11 and a 64-bit system type.

  2. CPU and RAM

In Task Manager, open Performance and record the processor name and installed memory.

  3. GPU and DirectX

Use dxdiag to identify the adapter, then check its model in the manufacturer’s documentation.

  4. Storage

Confirm that the drive used by your Steam library has at least 10 GB free.

First requirement: 64-bit Windows

For Road to Empress II system requirements, start in Windows Settings > System > About. Check the edition, version, and System type: Steam lists 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. Seeing Windows 10 or 11 alone is not enough if the installed system is 32-bit.

The operating system is only one row in the requirements. A compatible Windows version does not establish that the processor, memory, and graphics also meet the minimum. If a work or school computer limits access to system settings, read the device information without bypassing its administrator policy.

CPU requirements do not name a Core i3 model

Steam lists an Intel Core i3 or AMD equivalent but does not specify a generation or model number. Processor names span many generations and power classes, so the label alone cannot prove that an older and a newer i3 behave alike. The official wording leaves a model-specific comparison unresolved.

Record the full processor name from Task Manager’s Performance tab or Windows About page. You can then check the model in Intel’s or AMD’s official product documentation. If the model is not clear or its equivalence cannot be confirmed, keep that result as unknown and consult the current product listing or developer support rather than inventing a benchmark cutoff.

  • Write down the complete processor name, including its model or generation.
  • Use the CPU manufacturer’s product documentation for exact identification.
  • AMD equivalent does not identify one particular Ryzen model.

RAM requirements: 4 GB installed is not free memory

Steam lists 4 GB of RAM. Find installed memory in Settings, System, About or in Task Manager under Performance and Memory. Task Manager may also show available memory, which is what remains after Windows and open applications are using part of the installed amount.

Browsers, video tools, and cloud sync can use memory while a game is open. That context does not change the published minimum, but it can affect a particular session. The 4 GB figure should not be presented as a recommended amount or a guarantee that every computer with exactly 4 GB will play smoothly; no separate recommended memory amount is listed.

Graphics requirements call for a dedicated GPU

The graphics row says dedicated graphics, but it does not name a supported GeForce or Radeon model. Open Task Manager’s Performance tab or the Display section in dxdiag to identify the adapter. For a laptop, also check its manufacturer specification because a device may have both integrated graphics and a separate GPU.

An adapter appearing in Device Manager does not by itself establish that it satisfies the game’s requirement. If a computer only has integrated graphics, the official wording does not confirm that configuration. Check the product listing or ask the developer when model-specific compatibility matters; this site does not invent a passing or failing GPU list.

  • Record the full GPU model shown by Windows.
  • Distinguish integrated graphics from a separate graphics card.
  • Do not infer model support when Steam has not published a GPU list.

DirectX is a separate system requirement

The minimum list specifies DirectX 11. Search Windows for dxdiag to see the DirectX version shown on the System tab and the graphics adapter shown under Display. That system value describes the installed DirectX environment, but it does not prove every graphics capability required by a game.

Check DirectX support for the exact GPU model in the manufacturer’s documentation. If a driver is outdated, use the official vendor update path rather than an unknown driver bundle. The current Steam list does not name a feature level or a particular driver release, so this guide does not add either as a required version.

The 10 GB storage requirement is not a download size

The storage requirement is 10 GB. In File Explorer, inspect the free space on the drive where your Steam library is installed. Having space on a different drive may not help if the game is being installed to a library that is already full.

The listed storage amount is not evidence of the exact download size, the final size after updates, or the total space used by saves. Use Windows’ current free-space figure and Steam’s installation screen when deciding whether you have room. Avoid deleting personal files until you know what they contain and whether they are backed up.

  • Check the drive selected for this Steam library.
  • Keep download size and installed storage as separate measurements.
  • Make sure personal data is backed up before removing files.

Classify each system requirement as confirmed, below minimum, or unknown

A useful check has three outcomes: confirmed, below the listed minimum, or unknown. Windows can report an installed memory amount directly, while an AMD CPU’s equivalence or a GPU’s suitability may remain unknown when the listing gives no model-level threshold. Keep the component name and the source you checked beside each result.

One strong component does not automatically offset a different item below its minimum. Extra RAM does not prove that the graphics condition is met, and a current GPU does not turn a 32-bit operating system into a supported one. If a key item remains unknown, say so and return to the current Steam listing or developer support instead of reporting a guessed compatibility verdict.

  • Confirmed: device details and an authoritative model source match the listed condition.
  • Below minimum: the verified device value is under a published requirement.
  • Unknown: the listing does not provide enough detail for a model-specific answer.

If the system requirements are met but the game does not start

Check that Steam and the game have finished updating, restart the PC, and try once with unnecessary programs closed. Steam’s game properties also include an installed-file verification option; its exact menu wording can change between client versions, so follow the current Steam help if you cannot find it.

If the problem continues, record the error message, Windows version, CPU and GPU models, installed RAM, and free space on the installation drive before contacting official support. Do not delete game files at random or replace them with an unverified executable. A requirements table alone cannot identify the cause of an individual launch error.

FAQ

Road to Empress II PC requirements FAQ

The Steam minimum list says 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, Intel Core i3 or AMD equivalent, 4 GB RAM, dedicated graphics, DirectX 11, 10 GB available storage, and a broadband internet connection.

The Steam page checked for this guide does not identify recommended CPU or GPU models. It would be speculative to add a model or frame-rate promise as an official recommendation.

The listing does not identify a generation or model number, so the i3 label alone is not enough to confirm compatibility. Check the complete processor model and current official information.

The minimum list says dedicated graphics but does not name supported GPU models. It does not confirm that an integrated-only laptop qualifies, so verify the exact device with the manufacturer and current developer guidance.

Steam lists 10 GB as storage space. That does not establish an exact download size or final installed size; check the selected library drive and the current Steam install screen.

Run dxdiag from Windows Search. Check the System tab for the installed DirectX version and the Display tab for the adapter, then consult the GPU manufacturer for model-specific support.
